Valencia Airport Overview

Valencia Airport is also called Manises Airport (after the nearby town). It is situated 10km to the west of the city centre and can be reached via the N220 which connects to the main A3 motorway and N335. It runs parallel to the Autovia A3 highway which goes to Madrid andnearby is the Autovia -7 coast route to Barcelona

For the America's Cup sailing competition in March 2007 a new terminal was opened for regional traffic. It connects with the main terminal where in July 2012 a second extension opened on the eastern side with twenty more check-in desks and a new baggage reclaim hall. T1 is spread over 3 floors and T2 has five floors.

There are 4 air bridges from the aircraft into the terminal. It is a long walk before you leave the airport so if you need help make sure you tell your airline in advance .

When you arrive on the ground floor of terminal you will see 4 baggage reclaim halls: Hall One (with 2 baggage reclaim carousels), Hall Two (3 carousels), Hall Three (3 carousels) and Hall Four (4 carousels - one of which is for special/oversized baggage). So check the TV screen for which hall you should head for.

If you are departing from Valencia, check in for domestic and international flights on the uper floor of the terminal. Domestic flights leave from floor 1 of the aviation terminal which can be accessed from the terminal or outside.

You have several options on how to get to your final destination. The most comfortable and quickest way is to pre-book a hire car or book a private transfer.

Public transport options offer one bus line (Metrobus 150) which stops outside arrivals and runs at 20 minute intervals connecting the airport with the centre of Valencia with stops in Mislata, Quart de Poblet and Manises. You can pay on the bus and the journey time is about 45 minutes.

Metro line 3 runs to the city centre, port and other main locations. The railway station is in regional flights terminal and takes about 25 minutes to get into the city centre.

Most of the passengers come  from scheduled domestic flights with flights to Madrid accounting for nearly half. The other main Spanish Airports are Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona, Seville and Ibiza.

The low cost airlines Ryanair and easyJet offer flights from Bournemouth, Bristol, Dublin, Gatwick, Manchester, Nottingham and London Stansted.

Valencia Airport is the 10th busiest airport in Spain, last year handling 5.051.871 passengers with 59.005 flight operations.
