Most airports have a number of rent a car agencies who advertise that they are airport based, but this does not mean that they are in the terminal building. So check carefully on their actual location as you often need to catch a shuttle bus to get to them.
With the current economic situation a couple of national rent a car companies have stopped operating and some have moved out of the terminal buildings to cheaper off site locations. Where this has happened we have still included their pages at the airports concerned, but made it quite clear if they are now offsite or no longer in business. This is to keep passengers informed if their favourite car hire company suddenly disappears missing from the terminal building.
A lot of people are concerned about the driving in Spain and I know that it can be a little scary at times. The roads from the main Spanish Airports to most of the holiday destinations are fairly good motorways or dual carriageways which good signage. Just remember to spend a little time getting used to your rental car before you start driving as you would at home
