You have three main options for getting from Girona Airport to Barcelona. You can do this by bus, train or hiring a car..
There is always the option of a Private Girona Airport Transfer or Girona Airport taxi but these could be expensive at well over €100 each way.
The first Girona Airport Bus is the direct line into Barcelona itself, the journey takes around 40-80 minutes depending on traffic and you can obtain the full timetable by following our link the bus timetable. Or you can call the bus company on (0034) 902 361 550.
The buses run at regular intervals and you are dropped at Placa Sant Joan in the Centre of Barcelona.
A good travel resource website for you to look at is www.tmb.net which covers in depth the different kinds of transport available in Barcelona, the costs and timetables.
There are no Girona Airport Trains but you can either catch a Girona Airport Bus or Taxi to Girona Train Station and Transfer from there.
Trains run to Barcelona roughly every 30 minutes and prices range from €6.00 to €20 depending on the time of day and trian company you are travelling with.

From the Airport take the GI-534 towards the A7, after about 1.5kms you come to a roundabout, take the 4th exit, then join the A-7 toll motorway (signposted Barcelona).
The actual journey from Girona Airport to Barcelona by car should take around 1 hour and 10 minutes (depending on traffic) and is around 100-110 kms (64 miles).
I recently drove from Girona to Barcelona and you need to carry about €12 for the tolls. The roads are good, clear roads and the only difficult bit of the journey is knowing where to go when you get to Barcelona.
