Barcelona Airport Taxis

Private Transfers at Barcelona Airport

Taxis at Barcelona Airport

You can easily catch a taxi from one of the taxi ranks which have vehicles lined up and waiting directly outside each of the terminal buildings: arrivals areas of T1, Barcelona-Madrid shuttle and T2A and T2B. They are easily recognisable as the cabs are bright yellow and black in colour.

Please note that Barcelona Airport Taxis can only take a maximum of 4 people including any children, if there are more than 4 people then it is advisable to book a private Barcelona Airport Transfer.

You will find that the taxis operate on a queue system which usually move pretty quickly as there are quite a few taxis available at any given hour of the day although there can be slight delays during peak times.

Whenever I have used taxis here I have been amazed at how fluent the drivers speak English (even if I speak to them in Spanish) so don't feel intimidated if you need to give them directions. The taxis are metered and I found their charges (even in the city centre) as very reasonable. If they get stuck in traffic (especially on the Ramblas) and are near to your destination they will often suggest you pay to stop the meter going up even more and walk the rest of the distance.

For more information call +34 932 235 151 and if you find you have left something behind in a taxi then ring +34 902 101 564 on weekdays from 08:00am to 20:00pm or email to Objper-taxi@amb.cat.

Taxi Fares

There is a minimum charge of €20,00 for airport runs. Fares to and from the airport include a supplement of €4,20. A small suitcase or bag up will be carried free but larger items will cost €1,00 each.

Barcelona taxis operate two rates:

  • T-1 at night on and on weekdays between 20:00 pm and 8:00 am and 24 hours a day on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays

  • T-2 during the day from 8:00 am to 20:00 pm on weekdays

As a rough guide, it will cost between €24-28,00 on the ower rate to get from the airport to Plaza Catalunya in the centre of the city and it takes about 20 minutes.

Taxi fares can be paid in cash or by credit card (if the taxi driver has a sign saying he accepts them).
