I always think that with travel becoming more difficult with increased security checks, luggage restrictions etc, waiting for your flight in a VIP lounge is no longer a luxury but a necessity to reduce the stress and make life so much easier.
There is only one lounge at Alicante: the Salon Ifach VIP area can be accessed after you have checked in on the second floor, cleared security and arrive in the departures area. It is located on the third floor (which can be reached by stairs or a lift) between departure gates B and C (just follow the signs).
It is open every day from 06:00-23:00 allowing a maximum stay of three hours at a cost of £25.00 per adult or child (infants 0-1 are free). Payment is by credit card only.
If your flight is delayed then the lounge will remain open until midnight to accommodate you.
If you have special passes with airlines (British Airways Frequent Flyer, Club Europe, Priority Lounge Card, etc) you may well be able to gain free access to the Salon Ifach.
Just think that during the hot summer months instead of waiting in a hot, overcrowded terminal where to have to queue for something to eat and drink or wait for a seat to become available, you could instead be sitting in an air-conditioned non-smoking private lounge having a cold drink and using the internet, reading a newspaper or watching TV.
The facilities provided include free refreshments and soft drinks (alcoholic drinks available on request), television, Wi-Fi, newspapers/magazines. Telephone and fax facilities are available but have to be paid for.
The lounge has disabled access for wheelchair users and provides a flight information monitor so you can see when it is time to board.
You can pay on the day or book the lounge online in advance (providing your ETA and flight number) at www.loungepass.com or by telephoning the airport direct on +34 966 919 149/Fax: +34 966 919 182.
