Zaragoza sits in the Ebro River valley in the north east of the Spanish mainland. It is a beautiful, and unspoiled area surrounded by areas of desert, forests and mountains. This means that it has wide ranging temperatures with the summer reaching as much as 35ºC and winters dropping as low as 0ºC.
Spring in one of the wettest seasons in Zaragoza and can also feel fresh with winds from the Ebro Valley. The month of May is drier and averages around 38 mm / 1.5 inches of rain each year.
Summer has the best weather from May-September with temperatures averaging 28ºC / 82ºF, and during July and August it can get as hot as 35ºC / 95ºF. The evenings are mild but temperatures can drop and it can feel chilly so a wrap or caridigan can be useful.
Autumn offers plenty of warm, sunny weather with some rain. Temperatures during the dya in September average around 26ºC / 79ºF but drop to 19ºC / 66ºF by the end of October.
The coldest time of year is the winter with clear skies but temperatures remaining above freezing.
The weather can be warm and humid enough to warrant air conditioning during the spring and autumn months. Most of the hire cars come with it for a small amount extra, and if you are visiting Spain over the summer months we strongly recommend that you get an air conditioned car.
