Please note that Madrid Airport Taxis can normally only accommodate a maximum of 4 people including any young children, if there are more than four people then it may be preferable to book a private Madrid Airport Transfer. Also be aware that Spanish taxi drivers are not required by law to carry baby seats or child restraints, so if you have safety worries about your children it is better to book a hire car or private transfer and ask for them to be fitted

You will easily find the airport taxis from outside each terminal building. They operate on a queue system with a marshall ensuring that they move quickly and people do not push in, but be prepared for delays during peak times.

Where to Find the Taxi Ranks

The taxis here are metered but still check with the driver what the likely fare will be before you set off to avoid any nasty surprises. You can find the Madrid Airport taxi ranks located at:

• Terminal 1 ground floor arrivals
• Terminal 1 first floor
• Terminal 2 ground floor arrivals
• Terminal 2 second floor departures
• Terminal 3 ground floor arrivals
• Terminal 4 ground floor arrivals

Taxi Drop Off Points

When you come back to the airport the taxi driver can stop and drop you off at the following points:

• Terminal 1 ground floor arrivals
• Terminal 2 ground floor arrivals
• Terminal 3 ground floor arrivals.
• Terminal 4 ground floor

Taxi Fares

Journeys from or to the airport incur a supplement of €5.50 and from bus and railways stations it is an extra €3.00.

A taxi from Madrid Airport into the city centre will cost approximately €38-42 for the 12km journey.
