San Sebastian Airport Overview
San Sebastian is modern airport situated 22kms northeast of San Sebastián (journey time 20 minutes) near the town of Hondarribia on the Bay of Biscay. San Sebastián Airport is a main gateway to the Basque region of northern Spain, as well as Biarritz and other areas near southwest France's Atlantic coast.
The city of San Sebastian is divided into Old Town (Parte Vieja), Gros and Centro. and boasts one of the best in-city beaches in Europe where you can sunbathe, surf and swim right next to major historical buildings and churches.
Access to the airport from Irun and Hondarribia is via the N-638. This road links up with the N-1 which connects the airport with San Sebastian and the south of France, and with the AP-8 Bilbao-Behobia motorway.
There is one two-level terminal and the airport's runway stretches along the river Bidasoa right on the Spanish-French border.An ATM and a post office are located on the arrivals level of the terminal and the VIP lounge has limited business and telecommunications facilities.
