Ibiza Airport Overview
Ibiza Airport is located at 7.5 kilometres to the south-west of Ibiza Town (Eivissa), near San José. It is also 5 km from the San Jorge area of Ibiza. The main access road is the PM-801 (Ibiza-airport) motorway. Or an alternative route is the PM-803 (Ibiza-San José) motorway taking the Km4 exit.
There is one modern terminal at Ibiza Airport which caters for a wide range of both domestic and international flights with around 85% of passengers arriving during the months May-October.
It was opened as a temporary airport during the Spanish Civil War and first opened its doors to passengers in 1959 since when it has been extended and modernised.
In 2011 Ibiza Airport handled over 5,643,152 million passengers with 61,767 flight operations.
