More Ryanair Flights from Barcelona Airport

The planned cuts in Ryanair flights from Alicante over the air bridges dispute remain in place, but in the wake of the collapse of Spanair they are to start operating flights between Alicante and Barcelona and increase their base at Barcelona El Prat Airport to fill the space left by the bankrupt airline.

Currently Ryanair has 13 planes based in Barcelona, and with the space left by Spanair the airline aims to double the 5.8 million passengers they handled from that airport last year.

Flights from Barcelona will go to Alicante, Bilbao, Stockholm, Hamburg, Menorca and Munich. Ryanair will also increase flight frequency to Gran Canaria, Ibiza, Malaga, Palma, Seville and Tenerife.

Ryanair routes from Alicante will be reduced in April, with an end to services to Seville, Madrid, Palma, Santander, Pisa and Venice but flights to Paris will be recovered.
