Formula One drivers arrived at Jerez Airport earlier this week to take part in four days of official pre-season tests. It will allow the teams to see how their new cars perform plus check out new Pirelli softer tyres which have been developed to try and stop rapid degradation during the races.
The airport received two cargos containing cars of Red Bull and McLaren teams plus flights transporting six world Formula One racing driver champions: Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel, Kimi Raikkonen, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.
Today is set to be the most popular day when Fernando Alonso gets behind the wheel of the new F2012 car which he hopes will win him his third World Championship and first with Ferrari.
