According to the latest passenger traffic published by the Spanish Airport Authority, Santander Airport in northern Spain is the fastest growing airport on the Iberian peninsular.
The growth is thanks to increased flights being offered by the budget airline Ryanair who operated 15 routes there last summer. Last year passenger numbers at Santander increased by 21.4% to 1.12 million which is well above the national average of 6%. It was the first time Santander has handled over one million passengers in a year.
