The Costa De La Luz is relatively unknown to many “non Spanish” travellers. However it is a great coast and in my opinion has some of the best beaches in Spain.
The Costa De la Luz stretches from Tarifa (nr Gibraltar) through to the Portuguese border near Faro. It is a very popular windsurfers / kitesurfers destination and the Atlantic Ocean provides a very different beach experince to that of say Marbella which is only 90 minutes to the east.
The two very best airport for the Costa De La Luz are Gibraltar Airport or Jerez Airport but you could also use Malaga Airport (just under 2 hours to Tarifa), Seville Airport or even Faro in Portugal.
Faro may give problems if you are hiring a car so its best to check with the car hire company that it is OK to take the car into Spain before booking.
